WHAT TO EXPECT

Both of your eyes will be dilated at the first visit, and in most cases for subsequent visits also.  We recommend that you have a driver for your visits.

At each visit, a technician will measure your vision and check your eye pressures.  You will be given eyedrops to dilate your eyes.  This usually requires waiting for the pupils to slowly dilate.  Dilating your eyes is necessary for a thorough retina exam.  Once your eyes are fully dilated, you will see the doctor.  You may also have some photographs taken of your eyes

We often perform similar examinations and sometimes imaging studies as your referring doctor, but this is necessary for us to obtain the most information and provide the best care.

Please plan to be at our office for your appointment for up to two hours.

Before your first appointment at the retina center you will need to complete paperwork.  Some of this paperwork helps us with your care and some is required by insurance companies and the government.  You can access this paperwork by clicking on the links on this page or we can mail it to you.  Please bring this paperwork with you to your appointment.

Please click on each link below for the required paperwork.
